Elden Ring Boc the Seamster Questline Locations and Rewards
In the vast world of Elden Ring, players encounter numerous NPCs, but few offer services as unique as Boc the Seamster. This gentle Demi-Human provides players with a way to alter their armor without spending hard-earned runes. Understanding his questline allows players to save resources while tracking one of the game's most touching storylines.
Initial Encounters in Limgrave
Boc is first encountered near the Agheel Lake North Site of Grace in Limgrave, where he is disguised as a small tree. Rolling into or striking the bush breaks the spell and reveals his true form. After speaking with him, he relocates to the nearby Coastal Cave, where he lies injured after being cast out by his fellow Demi-Humans.
To assist Boc, players must defeat the Demi-Human Chiefs boss inside Coastal Cave to retrieve his stolen Sewing Needle and Tailoring Tools. Returning the needle to Boc inspires him to pursue his dream of becoming a master seamster. Once helped, he leaves the cave and promises to serve as your personal tailor.
Tracking Boc Through Liurnia and Altus Plateau
As you progress into Liurnia of the Lakes, Boc reappears at the Lake-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace. Speaking to him here unlocks his free tailoring service, allowing you to alter eligible armor garments without paying the standard 500 rune fee. He later moves to the East Raya Lucaria Gate and the Altus Highway Junction Site of Grace as you travel across the Lands Between.
To further advance his questline, you should collect the Gold Sewing Needle from the Church of Vows and purchase at least one piece of alterable demigod armor from Enia at Roundtable Hold. Handing over the Gold Sewing Needle allows Boc to alter legendary boss garments for you. Additionally, speaking to him at Altus Highway Junction grants you the My Lord gesture.
Branching Quest Outcomes and Rewards
The final phase of Boc's quest takes place at the East Capital Rampart Site of Grace in Leyndell. Here, Boc expresses insecurity about his appearance and mentions a desire to be reborn by Rennala. Players are faced with a crucial choice that determines the fate of the seamster.
Giving Boc a Larval Tear sends him to Raya Lucaria Grand Library, where he takes human form but quickly perishes. Alternatively, using the Prattling Pate item with the phrase You're Beautiful in front of him convinces him of his self-worth. This choice saves his life and permanently secures his free armor modification services for the rest of your adventure.
